A Drop of JoeWhen taking my action photos I discovered how difficult it can be just to take a simple action shot. My dad always appreciates a good cup of coffee, so with all the coffee machines and such in my house, a cup can be made at anytime. I decided to use our machine to my advantage to get a great action shot. I named this photo 'A Drop Of Joe' because of the little droplets of coffee dripping into the cup. I think this is a really nice picture, I love how you can see the little droplets of coffee forming and dropping into the cup. The lighting in my kitchen is not so great, so I did have to use the flash for this photo, so I think the lighting could be better. In this photo I think it is really nice that only the coffee falling from the machine is in focus, it directs the viewer right to the subject and rally allows it to stand out.

Beneath the StarsFor my last photo from this challenge, I wanted a different look from all the other pictures I had taken. I needed a model, and luckily my younger sister agreed. Apart from the cold weather, it was a lot of fun to take this as most of my photos I had taken before this challenge did not use models. It was fun to play around and create a background. I named this picture 'Beneath the Stars' because of the bright gold stars my sister is standing under, I think they really add character to the photo. I am really proud with how this picture turned out. I used a program to change the picture to black and white and added the original colour back to the stars and the teddy bear. I am not that happy with the gaps in the bush behind my sister, and the stars are in awkward positions because the wind was blowing them away. Other then the few small things in the photo I don't like, I am really happy with my use of Rule Of Thirds and I'm glad I decided to add the colour back to the few specific parts. |
